Probe launched after students develop complications at hospital

July 15 (Lankadeepa) - An investigation is underway after eleven school students developed complications following a drug given by Mihintale Hospital.

The affected children, aged between 05 and 09 and residing in the Mihintale area, were admitted to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

According to a hospital spokesperson, the students were initially admitted to Mihintale Hospital for treatment due to sepsis but fell ill after receiving a drug there. 

The North Central Provincial Health Director has initiated an inquiry into the incident.
