State-owned flag carrier Qatar Airways has agreed to increase flights for the Colombo-Doha route in November, following discussions held by the Tourism Ministry and Sri Lanka tourism authorities.

Tourism Minister Harin Fernando yesterday shared that Qatar Airlines would have an additional flight to Colombo during the upcoming season.

“Happy to announce that Qatar Airways will be increasing one extra flight daily during the FIFA World Cup season to promote tourists to visit SL during the non match days. Thank you to the airline for their decision to increase the flight to SL,” said Fernando in a Twitter update yesterday.

Attempts to contact Qatar Airways country manager for Sri Lanka for comments and further details in this regard were unsuccessful.
