Ranil calls for fresh mandate to create a bright future

Colombo, August 15 (Daily Mirror)-  Incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe who handed over the nomination today to contest the Presidential election, called for a fresh mandate to create a bright future for the nation.

“I seek the people’s mandate to create a bright future for the people of Sri Lanka. We took over the nation and brought stability. You have food, fuel and other essential items now. This is only the beginning. There is much to be done to convert Sri Lanka into a stabilised nation. Therefore I request the people to give me a mandate to fulfill our task,” he said.

“Opposition members ran away when they were asked to take over the nation during the crisis period. Decide whether you are going to hand over the nation to such persons,” he told the people.
