SDB bank CEO Piyadigama obtains enjoining order preventing him from getting sacked

SDB bank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thilak Piyadigama has obtained an enjoining order from District Court of Colombo preventing any attempts of him getting suspended or terminated from the bank.

“...Piyadigama has obtained an enjoining order from the District Court of Colombo in a case number DSP/00430/2021 against being placed on compulsory leave or being suspended from service of the bank or being terminated from the service of the bank,” SDB bank revealed In a stock filing this week.

Accordingly, the enjoining order is in effect for 14-days starting from 17th of December.

Piyadigama has been serving as the CEO of SDB bank since 1st of March 2019. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Nations Trust Bank (NTB).

In addition, he also heads the Working Group of Financial Institutions (FI) appointed by the Central Bank (CB) to coordinate the implementation of LANKAQR.
