State Minister of Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama yesterday said Sri Lanka has realised US$ 211 million as foreign direct investments (FDI) in the first quarter of this year.

For the January to July period, the Board of Investment (BOI) has approved investment projects to the tune of US$ 682 million, he added.

Sri Lanka has set a FDI target of US$ 1.5 billion for this year.

Despite the ongoing economic crisis, the BOI has been able to attract FDIs worth US$ 1.75 billion exceeding the targeted amount of US$ 1 billion for 2022, Amunugama said.
