Schoolgirl run over by bus in Gampola

Gampola, May 22 (Daily Mirror) - A schoolgirl died after being hit by a private bus travelling from Berawila to Gampola at New Kurunduwatta, Gampola this morning. 

Police said the 10-year-old girl, a resident of Malgolla, Patitalawa, died after being admitted to the New Kurunduwatta Regional Hospital.

According to investigations, the accident had occurred when the girl had got off the bus and was crossed the road in front of the bus.

Both the driver and conductor of the bus have been arrested in connection with the accident. 

The New Kurunduwatta police are conducting further investigations.
