Several trains may get delayed or cancelled during strike: Engineers’ Union

Colombo, June 7 (Daily Mirror) zto the ongoing train strike, several powerset trains running from Colombo Fort railway station will not run this morning, the Locomotive Operating Engineers Union (LOEU) said. 

They said several train services may be cancelled or delayed.

However, the trade union action was launched by the Railway Drivers' Union based on the promotion of 84 train drivers who had joined the service in 2015 and 2017. A section of these drivers have launched the strike today.

Meanwhile, the president of the union said that this is not a decision taken by the executive committee of the union but a decision taken by the union secretary.
