Some 52 essential drugs still in short supply: Minister

Parliament, Agust 8 (Daily Miror)- Some 52 essential drugs are still in short supply in the country whereas there is no shortage of life saving drugs, Health Minister Ramesh Pathirana said today.

He told Parliament that substitutes are available for the essential drugs that are in short supply.

The Minister said orders have already been placed to procure the drugs in short supply and that the situation will come to normal soon.

He said there was a shortage of 250 essential drugs last year and that it has now decreased to 52.
