The government has announced the successful completion of its International Sovereign Bonds (ISBs) exchange offer, with 98% of bondholders participating.

The initiative, launched on November 25, 2024, aimed to restructure the country’s debt and secure new securities.

As Finance Minister, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake hailed the high participation as a vote of confidence from international and local stakeholders.

He highlighted that the exchange would provide substantial debt relief, free resources for development and ensure long-term fiscal stability.
