Colombo, August 3 (Daily Mirror)- Labour and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara said 24 Sri Lankans who had attended an event organized by the JVP-affiliated ‘Ethera Api’ Organization have been arrested in Kuwait.
Taking to X, Minister Nanayakkara said he has contacted the Sri Lankan embassy and necessary steps are being taken to secure their release.
He told the Daily Mirror that they had been arrested for the unauthorized conduct of the event.
“We are trying to get them released,” he added.
I have been notified that Kuwait has arrested 24 Sri Lankans, including organizers & musicians, who attended an event organized by JVP-led Ethara Api organization.
