‘Though I have issues with SJB I will not act irresponsibly: Tissa

Colombo, June 25 (Daily Mirror) - Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) National Organiser Tissa Attanayake said today that though he does not agree with the party on certain matters, he will not act irresponsibly.

“There are instances where I don’t agree with the stance taken by the SJB on certain issues, but I don’t act irresponsibly like party Chairman Sarath Fonseka,” Attanayake told journalists today.

“I only talk of the issues I have with the party at the management committee or at the working committee meetings. If a member has an issue, he should talk about it at the management committee meeting, at the working committee meeting or at the parliamentary group meeting. Therefore, one cannot endorse the action of party chairman Sarath Fonseka who openly criticised the party leadership in Parliament,” he said.

“The party leadership should take action against Fonseka and I believe the management committee will decide on a course of action against him soon,” Attanayake added.

Also, he said there is no issue with MP Rajitha Senaratne and Hirunika Premachandra, though they also seem to be toeing a different line on certain matters. 

“MP Senaratne has only praised President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the government, while Hirinuka has only talked about a certain issue she is facing as far as the party is concerned. However, they have not acted irresponsibly like Fonseka,” he said
