Two close associates of ’Angoda Lokka’ arrested in Mulleriyawa

Two close associates of underworld figure 'Angoda Lokka' have been arrested with heroin during a raid at Udumulla in Mulleriyawa this morning.
 
The Western Province (South) Crime Division officers arrested the suspects on possession with 5grams of heroin.
 
Investigation revealed that one of the suspects was the main suspect in the shooting incident at Pahathgama in Hanwella in 2019 where a businessman and another were shot dead.
 
The 43-year-old businessman W. Vijith Premalal alias Sumedha and a 32-year-old man were shot dead by two unidentified gunmen while they were inside a house on August 25 last year.
 
Police said the arrested second suspect was in remanded custody over the possession of a hand grenade, a revolver, 10 ammunition of T-56, a gas mask and 2 kilos of cannabis in 2018 at Pethiyagoda.
 
The suspects aged 26 and 30 would be detained for further questioning.(DSB)
