’Won’t promote myself at Presidential poll, will only focus on country’: President

Colombo, August 16 (Daily Mirror)-  President Ranil Wickremesinghe said today that he does not intend to promote himself at the Presidential election but will only focus on the nation. 

"I am not going to promote myself at the Presidential election, but will only focus and talk of the nation. This year's Presidential election is all about the future of the nation," Wickremesinghe said during the signing of the 'Puluwan Sri Lanka' agreement today. 

"We took over a nation which did not have funds to obtain essential items. There were fuel and gas queues. Some fled without fulfilling their duties. We took over and stabilised the nation. Today we have USD 84 billion in our foreign reserves. We have managed to stabilise inflation," the President added.
