A survey carried out by SriLankan Airlines among its loyal customers has revealed that 44 percent of the respondents believe that it would be safe to fly within three months in the current context, despite COVID-19 pandemic has not shown any signs of slowing down.
SriLankan said the survey collected feedback from over 5, 500 FlySmiLes loyalty members within a period of three weeks.
The geographical spread of the survey respondents consisted of Sri Lanka (42.3 percent), South Asia (22 percent), Europe (20 percent), South Pacific (4.5 percent), Maldives (4 percent), North America (3.2 percent), Far East (2 percent) & Japan & Korea (0.9 percent).
More than contracting the virus, the survey also revealed that the respondents worry about government restrictions on travel in the post-COVID period.
Further, more respondents believed that social distancing would give them a higher assurance of safety when flying than PCR testing at the airport.
