Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, during his recent visit to London, held talks with the British multinational retailer Marks & Spencer Company Chief Executive Officer Marc Bolland, a statement from Finance Ministry said.
It said CEO Bolland requested Minister Karunayake to widen the scope of investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Bolland said Marks and Spencer was prepared to give priority to Sri Lanka when investing in the garment industry and several
other fields.
He said Sri Lankan employees in the garment industry had shown exquisite performance and skills when compared to their counterparts in other countries.
