The June 2022 syndicated survey conducted by Verité Research has revealed that 70 percent (± 2 percent) of the country’s population is of the opinion that the executive presidency should be abolished.

Only 15 percent said that the executive presidency should not be abolished.

The balance 15 percent had various other opinions (such as reducing the powers, instead of abolishing it) or refused to state an opinion.

The distribution of opinion was very similar across all age groups. The Southern, Eastern and Northern provinces had a similar distribution of opinion, with over 80 percent saying the executive presidency should be abolished.
