AIA celebrates top performers at Sales Convention 2024

AIA Insurance hosted its AIA Sales Convention 2024 in grand style recently at Shangri-La Colombo, under the inspiring theme ‘WINGS UP - to fly beyond Everest’. 

This glamourous event highlighted the exceptional achievements of AIA’s top-performing wealth planners in an atmosphere filled with motivation and prestige. 

AIA CEO Chathuri Munaweera along with Chief Agency Officer Chanaka Liyanage, the executive committee and senior management, the convention brought together elite achievers from across Sri Lanka.

A standout feature of this year’s event was the industry’s first augmented reality (AR) press advertisement on the Sunday Lankadeepa newspaper, showcasing the top winners. This innovative AR experience included personalised messages from the top six winners, adding a unique and engaging element to the recognition of the best of the best. 

Among the highlights, Sanjeewani Somarathna from Kandy ADO was honoured as the Best Wealth Planner for the fourth consecutive year, with K. Piran (Kilinochchi) and Yashoda Rupasinghe (Gampaha) securing the First and Second Runners-Up positions, respectively. 

The Best Wealth Planners’ Manager award was won by Thuraj Aponso from Colombo Region Five, while Upul Indika Samaranayaka (Monaragala branch) and S.N. Athukorala (Tissamaharama ADO) won the First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up, respectively.

Meanwhile, Krishan Dassanayake from the Panadura City ADO won the Best Cluster Wealth Planners’ Manager award. Thakshila Koralage from Moratuwa ADO won the First Runner-Up while Chandana Priyantha from Horana Region One won the Second Runner-Up.

The Best Three Tier Manager award was awarded to Priyantha Dias from Moratuwa ADO, while Sirimal Pieris (Colombo Main One) and Ransilu Perera (Moratuwa ADO) won the First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up, respectively.

Vinol Priyasenarath from Moratuwa ADO won the Best Area Development Manager. Dileepa Ameendra (Tissamaharama and Matara ADO) and Y.G.G.B. Yatigammana (Mawanella ADO) won the First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up, respectively.

Eresh Silva was adjudged the Best Distribution Unit Head from Negombo Region One. Supun Akalanka from Colombo Region Five was the First Runner-Up and Tharindu Weerakoon from Wennappuwa was the Second Runner-Up in this award category.
