ARCHNIX-NAITA sign MoU to upskill students to meet industry needs

ARCHNIX Group Chairman Kinthusan Thevakumar has introduced a new concept to the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) to develop their students’ skills to meet industry requirements.


Accordingly, NAITA recently signed an MoU with ARCHNIX Information Technological & Servicers to produce ‘Smart Technocrats’, who are globally recognised and who also possess internationally acclaimed qualifications through reskilling and upskilling which local and international employment markets look for in existing and new IT trainees.


The MoU will enable NAITA and ARCHNIX to contribute to enhance vocational education and training for youth in the various sectors of Information Technology skills which would include skilled craft level training programme (NVQ 03 or 04) - 1 to 2 years, future Information Technology Training Diploma 2-year programme (NVQ Level 06) and enforcement of skill upgrading non-NVQ training programme that could lead IT literacy development.


As per the MoU, NAITA will enroll trainees in collaboration with ARCHNIX and register them under NAITA and provide soft skill development programmes for trainees which include assessment, testing programmes for the courses in line with the standard or agreed procedures. 


NAITA will also monitor trainees and training programmes during the training period in addition to the supervision by ARCHNIX. Furthermore, NAITA will also work with ARCHNIX to develop, conduct and moderate IT programmes related to NVQ and Non NVQ certification in the Information Technology training sector to meet local and international employment standard requirements. 


Sutharshan Balachandren (CTO) Priyadarshan Samuthran (IS Development Manager), Eleena Mendis, Lidona Meriza, Sudarshan Kumar participated at the MoU signing event along with Prof. Mahinda Rupasinghe (Vice Chairman), Nilantha de Silva (Director –Training), Basuru Gamage and other NAITA directors.
