Abans recently recognized the extraordinary bravery of Charithma Jinendri, a student from the Arts section at Padukka Piyarathana Vidyalaya, for her heroic act during the recent floods caused by the overflowing of the Wak Oya.
Jinendri had displayed immense courage and quick thinking, rescuing a couple trapped inside a house during the deluge.
To support Jinendri in her educational pursuits and future endeavours, Abans, at the behest of Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha, donated a tablet. This gesture was part of Abans’ commitment to corporate social responsibility and encouraging youth to contribute positively to society.
The donation took place on June 14, at an event organized by Padukka Piyarathana Vidyalaya. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Parliament Member Jagath Kumara Sumithra Arachchi, former Additional Secretary of the Education Ministry and Education Minister’s Private Secretary Hemantha Premathileka, and Homagama Regional Director Hemantha Gamage. Representing Abans were Dr. Chathura Jayawardana, Chief Marketing Officer, Chamila Janaranga, General Manager of Sales, and Yoshitha Harshana, Sales Manager.
