Adding to a growing portfolio of prestigious projects across the island, Schindler was recently awarded the contract to supply six high-speed elevators to Amari Colombo Hotel, currently under construction in the Kollupitiya commercial district of the capital, within close proximity to the official residence of the Prime Minister, US Embassy and Kollupitiya bus and train stations.

The project is owned and fully funded by Winil Holdings, a subsidiary of Sri Lanka-based Winil Gems Group. ONYX Hospitality Group, one of the region’s leading hotel management companies, has been appointed as the operator.

Located at the junction where the Colombo Plan Road (formerly known as Marine Drive) meets Galle Road, Amari Colombo is perfectly situated for direct access to the planned road linking this vibrant Colombo 3 district to the businesses and attractions of the downtown Fort area.

Originally from Thailand and expanding rapidly across Asia, Amari is the flagship brand of ONYX Hospitality Group, with a rich and longstanding heritage of over 52 years.

“We are delighted to partner with Winil Holdings and ONYX Hospitality Group on this prestigious project in a prime location in Colombo. This project further endorses our core competencies as one of the leading vertical transportation solution providers in Sri Lanka,” said Haresh de Soysa, Director of Trade Promoters (Pvt.) Ltd, distributor for Schindler products in Sri Lanka.

“Our experience across multiple product segments, ranging from low-rise to high-rise elevators, our reputation for on-time delivery and quality products, played a major role in this contract being awarded to Schindler and Trade Promoters (Pvt.) Ltd. We look forward to successfully delivering this project,” concluded
de Soysa.
