Atlas Axillia Company (Pvt.) Ltd ventured into the toy market with the launch of a new line of educational toys under the brand name ‘PlayPalz’, at Trace Expert City in
Colombo, yesterday.
Emphasising on the need to support early childhood development of the future generation in a rapidly changing world with full scale automation just over the horizon, it launched the toys under three sub-brand categories: BlockBuddies, MindBuddies and CraftBuddies.
The company said that each collection is thoughtfully crafted to provide an engaging, hands-on and safe learning experience for young children, to equip them with cognitive, emotional and social skills, which are essential for their future.

Atlas Axillia Managing Director Asitha Samaraweera, addressing the audience remarked, “We have recognised the important role played by educational toys in sparking creativity and improving a child’s development.”
Child Psychologist Dr. Beenuka Wickramatunge, highlighted the importance of educational toys for early childhood development, stating, “Playing is fundamental for early childhood development and the Atlas PlayPalz toys are designed with the broader goal of improving this vital stage, providing engaging educational experiences that are crucial for improving a child’s potential.”
In addition to the launch of Atlas PlayPalz, the launch also introduced ‘Genius Zones’, ‘Genius Roots’ and ‘Genius Insights’, creating a seamlessly interconnected ecosystem.
The Genius Zones enhance blended learning by integrating physical and digital medium, while Genius Roots will serve as a valuable platform providing parents with resources and tips on early childhood development.
Additionally, Genius Insights will offer expert demonstrations for teachers and parents through engaging video tutorials.

The event took place with a panel discussion where a diverse and esteemed panel came together to delve into a conversation surrounding the importance of enhancing early childhood development and how these toys can be utilised to create a more child-centric learning environment in pre-schools across the country.
Esteemed members of the panel further elaborated on the development of fine motor skills, which refers to the coordination of small muscles in movement with the eyes, hands and fingers and transfer into future vocational skills of the child.
