Bairaha Farms appoints two new directors to board

Bairaha Farms PLC strengthened its director board recently with the appointment of two new directors.  They are M. I. Wahid, the current Group General Manager of Bairaha Farms PLC and Prof. Harischandra Abeygunawardena. 

M. I. Wahid would hold the position of Director/Group General Manager and he will be an Executive Director and Prof. H. Abeygunawardena would be an Independent and Non Executive Director. 
M. I. Wahid being a veteran in the poultry industry brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the Company as well as with exposure to all aspects of Poultry Management and Production. 

Prof. H. Abeygunawardena has a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Peradeniya as well as MSc and PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign USA.  Some of the positions held by him previously include Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Member of the University Grants Commission, Commonwealth Senior Academic at the University of Reading, United Kingdom.   Currently he holds the position of President of Sri Lanka College of Veterinary Surgeons.
