In continuing to unlock Sri Lanka’s potential, the CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Australia Chamber of Commerce and the Sri Lankan High Commission in Australia, will host the ‘Resilient & Rising: Leveraging Sri Lanka’s Potential’ Business Forum today (6th June), at the Brisbane Club, Brisbane, Australia.
The forum aims to bring together prominent Australian business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors to explore and capitalise on the growing opportunities within Sri Lanka. It will serve as a critical platform for robust discussions on economic resilience, investment prospects, and strategic initiatives driving growth in Sri Lanka.
The business forum will explore Sri Lanka’s sustainable manufacturing capabilities, provide insights into Sri Lanka as a preferred BPO hub, apart from helping enhance travel and investment opportunities between Sri Lanka and Australia.

The forum will feature distinguished speakers, including Chitranganee Wagiswara, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Australia; Heshana Kuruppu, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka; Duminda Hulangamuwa, Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce; Kalum De Silva, President of the Sri Lanka Australia Chamber of Commerce; and Paul Cooper, Chairman of Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre and Manufacturing Queensland. Lalanka Amarasiri, Chair of the Investor and Business Relations Committee of the CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter, will deliver a detailed presentation, while Ilham Sabry Ahamed, Executive Committee Member of the CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter will moderate the session.
Heshana Kuruppu said that Sri Lanka presents immense potential as an investor destination, offering a strategic location, a skilled workforce, and a conducive business environment. “The country’s burgeoning BPO sector further underscores its capabilities, providing a competitive edge in global outsourcing.
We look forward to showcasing these opportunities at the upcoming forum organised by the CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter, in partnership with the Sri Lanka Australia Chamber of Commerce and the Sri Lankan High Commission in Australia. Our aim is to foster partnerships that drive mutual growth and success, and we are also hopeful that such awareness will create opportunities for CA Sri Lanka practitioners as well as Small & Medium Sized Practitioners (SMPs).”
This business forum marks the second such event organised by the CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter, following last year’s inaugural business forum, which also aimed to collaborate and enhance trade and investment between Australia and Sri Lanka, and promote Sri Lanka as a premier tourist destination.
Meanwhile, the CA Sri Lanka Australia Chapter will also host the highly anticipated ‘Chartered Ball 2024’ on 08thJune, at Springvale City Hall, Victoria, Australia. Over 350 guests are expected at the event, which will also serve as a fundraising initiative for the benefit of aspiring CA students in Sri Lanka.
