Botanik Live - where art collaborates with food and space at Botanik

The hottest bistro in town, Botanik, injects new life into dining out with Botanik Live, an event where art collaborates with food and space. Botanik Live promises to be a heady cocktail of entertainment, drinks and food and will feature musicians and bands, dance acts, stand-up comedy and even spoken word. Botanik Live will feature promising local talent and provide a platform for them to be recognized at two shows a month, on alternate Sundays. The shows for this month are slated for 11th and 25th February at 07.30pm. People can walk into Botanik and enjoy the performances and the team behind Botanik Live hopes it will become a must-do in people’s monthly calendars where they just come out for dinner and appreciate art at the same time.
 
Botanik Live is being promoted by Mayanthi De Silva, who is currently in negotiation The Soul, a band that focuses on creating original music with influences from blues, rock, percussive groove and reggae. Mayanthi says, “Our focus for Botanik Live is local talent, especially talent that deserves an audience and talent that doesn’t get the stage that they need! Botanik was very welcoming about it when I pitched the idea. Shannon Jacob and I had the privilege of launching Botanik Live together with Nathan Eardly. It was an instant success and Botanik Live; I believe is here to stay.”

 
The unique personality of the venue will provide the right springboard for the artists. Botanik Live will be about art and what each artist has to share with an audience. Botanik Live will be a show in itself. There are only a few venues that support artists and Botanik aspires to be a nurturing presence in Colombo’s entertainment scene. News, updates and live feeds will be featured on the Botanik page on both Facebook and Instagram.

Overlooking the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre, located on the 6th floor rooftop of the Fairway Colombo in the commercial, tourist and historical Colombo Fort, Botanik is the perfect location from which to gaze out at Colombo’s rapidly rising skyline. Botanik brings alive the concept of ‘botany’ through the wallpaper, décor, and herb infusion in cocktails and cuisine. Botanik stands apart as a uniquely themed lifestyle space. Owned and managed by Cantaloupe & Co., Botanik is the hottest bistro in town, having commenced operations in September 2017.
