The library of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) heralded a new era in digital transformation last week, as it launched its e-Library for the benefit of its vast membership.

The e-Library will provide thousands of Chartered Accountants, corporate clients and CA students a range of eBooks with the convenience of accessing the digital publications anywhere and anytime via any electronic device including laptop, tab or mobile.

The e-Library was officially launched by CA Sri Lanka President Jagath Perera in the presence of institute staff and officials. Speaking on the importance of the unique initiative, Perera said that in this day and age it is increasingly important to offer facilities of convenience not only to professionals but also to students.

He also emphasized the increasing need for professional bodies to stay relevant and be on par with global bodies by launching initiatives in line with the continuing IT transformation which has impacted everyday life.

“The e-Library is an excellent platform as it will provide our members and even students access to a range of eBooks on a diverse range of subjects at a click of a button,” he said.
Perera noted that students who have to gain knowledge on a certain subject for their next lecture, will not need to come to the library physically anymore, and instead they can access the relevant publication digitally.

“As a progressive institute, we have always been at the forefront in offering our multiple stakeholders a wide range of services which are modern and technologically savvy. The e-Library is one such effort in this continuing endeavor, as we compete to stand shoulder to shoulder with our global counterparts,” he added.

The CA Sri Lanka e-Library offers a range of eBooks including accounting, finance, business, strategic management, human resources management, marketing management, and organizational management. Active members of the CA Sri Lanka Library will gain automatic access to the e-Library service and can access the range of eBooks by administering a unique username and password which will be provided to active library members by the Institute.

The fully-fledged CA Sri Lanka Library located at Colombo 7 stocks over 10,000 books, newspaper articles, journals, periodicals and as well as around 100 CDs. The library is frequented by Chartered Accountants, non-finance professionals and CA students.
