CFA Society Sri Lanka, which is the local arm of the CFA Institute, has planned to celebrate this year’s Global Ethics Day with a webinar on taking ethical action in the age of AI, big data and IoT, on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. onwards Sri Lanka time.

The event is organised with a view to exploring how businesses are preparing for an ethical future in the face of threats and challenges presented by globalisation, technology and human psychology.

A spokesperson from CFA Society Sri Lanka said, “This day is to remind individuals and businesses of their ethical responsibilities and highlight why doing the right thing is so important and  this is why CFA Society Sri Lanka is organising this event to shine a spotlight on all things ethical.”

CFA Society Sri Lanka President Dinesh Warusavitharana CFA said, “At the CFA Institute, ethics and professionalism have always been an integral part of our curriculum and are core to our life as a professional membership body and we are pleased to promote Global Ethics Day. We, at CFA Society Sri Lanka, in line with the CFA Institute, seek to promote the highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence in the investment management industry.”

Can machines handle the associated ethical dilemmas? What will the real-world look like?”

In this upcoming webinar by Dr. Lok, he will be exploring how the near future will look like while also introducing the relevant framework to handle ethical dilemmas.
