CIC Holdings appoints Kshenuka Senewiratne to board

CIC Holdings PLC yesterday announced the appointment of diplomat Kshenuka Senewiratne as an independent non-executive director of the company with effect from 
January 1, 2023.


Kshenuka having been a Grade I Officer of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service has the distinction of being the first female Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in New York and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) and also the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 


Kshenuka, a seasoned diplomat, who retired from the Public Service in 2020, counts a 35-year track record with the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, having held postings as Sri Lanka’s Head of Mission to the UN both in Geneva and New York, UK and Thailand. 


She has extensive expertise in the North American, European and Asian regions in a multitude of strategies to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations, especially through political and economic cooperation in the global context,  

and also ensuring the overall administrative effectiveness of the Sri Lankan missions overseas and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where she served. 


She is currently working in an advisory capacity on international media. Kshenuka has strong academic and professional qualifications with a Bachelor of Science in Economics (University of Salford, UK), Chevening Scholar Oxford University UK and Master of Arts in International Relations (University of Colombo). 


In addition, she has followed a plethora of professional training programmes ranging from United Nations Disarmament programme, KOICA Administrative programme (Korea) and the US, Near East South Asia Centre (NESA) for strategic studies executive programme.
