Sri Lanka’s pioneering cyber security training provider CICRA Campus has partnered with Sri Lanka Association for Software Services Companies (SLASSCOM), the national chamber for the knowledge and innovation industry in Sri Lanka, to train and certify software developers in secure software development.
Under this partnership, CICRA Campus will exclusively offer Certified Secure Software Developer (CSSD) programme and certification to SLASSCOM member companies through the SLASSCOM Academy.
“CICRA Campus is proud to partner with SLASSCOM. Professionally qualified Secure Software Developers will accelerate achieving SLASSCOM’s vision of generating USD 5.0 billion of revenue, creating 200,000 jobs and catalyzing 1,000 startups,” CICRA Campus Group Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said.
“The training programme will empower the software developers in Sri Lanka to be professionally qualified as a Certified Secure Software Developer,” he added.
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony, SLASSCOM Chairman Ashique Ali said “With the rapid growth in digitization in government, businesses, and at individual level - globally and in Sri Lanka, there is increased usage of software in a multitude of platforms from computers to personal devices. Software businesses, their teams, and freelancers need to pay attention to the security and privacy aspects. The certified secure software development programme offered by SLASSCOM Academy and CICRA imparts the principles and practical training to ensure developers approach application security holistically.”
The CSSD training will guide the software developers to understand security concerns and compromises that may arise with every step of the application development process.
The training also helps individuals develop the habit of giving importance to security sacrosanct of their job role, therefore opening security as the main domain for testers, developers, network administrators, etc.
