The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) has planned to host a very important webinar to make the industrial sector employees aware of the Sri Lanka Customs’ initiative for Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) and Complaint Economic Operator (CEO) programme.
This newly-launched programme by the Sri Lanka Customs is in line with the World Customs Organisation (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards and the Trade Facilitation Agreement under World Trade Organisation (WTO). The programme is supposed to be basically aimed at securing and facilitating global trade by expediting the movement, release and clearance of goods by reducing the time and cost involved.
“As the only chamber purely for the Sri Lankan industry, we always strive in making our industrialists equipped with updated knowledge and information which will lead to operational efficiency and for making realistic business decisions,” CNCI Secretary General Abeyratne Muthugala stated.
The webinar will be held on March 16, 2022, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, through online (Zoom) platform, covering the areas of new initiatives to imports and exports, AEO and CEO, eligibility, benefits, etc. Customs Deputy Director Sudaththa Silva, who is one of the most reputed resource persons in the Sri Lanka Customs, will conduct the webinar along with Customs Superintendent Dinusha Hettaarachchi as the resource persons.
The CNCI advises the industrialists to get yourself and your people hurriedly registered for the programme in order to be current on the latest initiatives of the Sri Lanka Customs. For further details you may contact the CNCI Secretariat at [email protected] or [email protected].
