Cabinet nod for President-headed new investment promotion committee

The Cabinet nod has been granted to appoint a ministerial committee on investment promotion chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa with the objective of providing necessary policy and pragmatic solutions to promote investment opportunities in the country.

President Rajapaksa on Monday sought the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers to appoint the committee.

Chaired by the President, the committee consists of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and relevant Ministers and State Ministers.

It has also been decided to appoint an officials’ committee to assist the committee.
