Ceylon Tea promoted at Toronto Tea Festival

Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto took part at the 6th Annual Tea Festival, organized by the Tea Guild of Canada, held at the Toronto Reference Library from 3rd - 4th  February with the support of the Sri Lanka Tea Board. 


Ceylon Tea samples from Dimbula, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Uva, Uda Pussellawa, Ruhuna and Sabaragamuwa regions, were displayed and free Ceylon Tea samples, provided by the Sri Lanka Tea Board were distributed among participants, numbering 2000 persons, during the two-day event. Hot tea from the above regions was also served to all the visitors during the two-day event. 


The Consulate General was able to create wider awareness among the visitors on Sri Lanka’s rich tea culture, health benefits, different flavours, processing techniques and presentation styles. There were fifty one 51 tea stalls from tea vendors took part at the event which include the Tea Association of Canada, Basilur Tea, Royal Ceylon Tea Company etc.
