Chandana Amaratunga to lead JASTECA to new heights

Executive committee, office bearers, Immediate Past President and Vice Patron with Ambassador for Japan in Sri Lanka 

 

 

The Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA), the sole alumni association of the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) for Sri Lanka, held its 36th Annual General Meeting recently at Galadari Hotel Colombo.


A new executive committee was inducted to serve the legacy of the JASTECA for another two consecutive years, with Chandana Amaratunga at the helm as President from 2022 to 2024. Ambassador for Japan in Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki graced the event as the chief guest while Dian Gomes, as the keynote speaker, brightened the evening by delivering a speech 
on resilience.


Mangala Samarajeewa, Nirosh De Silva, and Anuruddha Gamage were inducted as Senior Vice President and Vice Presidents, respectively.  Tyrell Roche was inducted as Treasurer while Priyantha Herath was inducted as Assistant Treasurer for 
the period. 


The 36th Annual General Meeting turned a new leaf in the JASTECA’s 36 years of existence with the appointment of the first female General Secretary to the organisation, where Gayani Punchihewa got inducted as General Secretary while Dulanjana Silva was inducted as Assistant Secretary. 


Chethana Liyanage, Dr. Neil Bogahalande, Dr. Sarath Buddhadasa, Parakrama Jayatissa and Lasantha Wickremesooriya were inducted as executive committee members.
