Chinthaka Lokuhetti assumes duties as Int’l Trade Ministry Secretary

Sri Lanka Administration Secretary Special Grade Officer Chinthaka S. Lokuhetti assumed duty yesterday as the new International Trade Ministry Secretary.


The ceremonial assumption of duties was held at the International Trade Ministry, on the 27th floor of the West Tower of the World Trade Centre, Colombo 1. 


International Trade State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe graced this occasion and the official letter of assumption of duties was handed over by Lokuhetti to the minister. Lokuhetti started off as a university lecturer and joined Sri Lanka Administration Service in 1990 as Assistant Divisional Secretary of Habaraduwa. 


From 1996 to 2000, he worked as Divisional Secretary of Akmeemana, Bope and Poddala, as an exceptional government official loved by the people of the Southern Province. Lokuhetti obtained his postgraduate from the United Kingdom in 2000-2001. Then he worked as a Senior Consultant of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, as Provincial Probation Commissioner and also as secretary of several provincial ministries. He became Treasury Director General in 2016 and worked as Industry and Commerce Ministry Secretary up until now.
