The Commercial Bank of Ceylon of Ceylon has announced it is deploying its ‘Bank-on-Wheels’ Mobile ATM units in areas where curfews are in force, to provide urgently needed access to cash to members of the public.

The bank said a schedule containing details of the locations and times that these mobile banking units are operating will be announced each day on the Bank’s website as well as on the Bank’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

Commercial Bank’s Bank-on-Wheels units offer the convenience of cash withdrawals via ATM cards as well as passbooks, in addition to other basic over-the-counter banking services.
Additionally, all Commercial Bank branches located in areas where the curfew has been temporarily lifted operate for three hours from 9am to 12noon to provide essential banking services, the Bank said.

The bank also operates selected branches during curfew hours where staff attend to the urgent banking needs of customers.

The bank has also made it easier for customers to use its Online Banking portal and to open ‘Flash’ Digital Accounts during this period by permitting self-registration for these facilities, removing the need to visit a branch to get started.

Customers can download the Online Banking application from the Bank's website. The completed form should be emailed to the given address with photos of both sides of the accountholder’s national identity card. Bank staff will contact the customer via telephone to activate the facility.

The bank's unique digital banking application Flash can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. It also enables self-registration, and once customers register by uploading identification documents, they can engage in various financial transactions without having to visit a branch.
