In keeping with its forward-facing, tech-centric approach to improving customer experiences and providing the most accessible and efficient service, DFCC Bank continues to implement the acceptance of digital signatures across the network.
Building on its partnership with LankaSign, the DFCC Bank customers can now conveniently and seamlessly forward all formal requests and authorisations for transactions to DFCC Bank by placing a digital signature. Customers simply need to be registered with LankaSign, which is a part of LankaPay, to use this service. Furthermore, digital signatures placed via LankaSign are internationally accepted and offer full legal compliance in Sri Lanka.

Discussing the initiative, DFCC Bank CEO Thimal Perera said, “While providing an unmatched level of convenience and accessibility, the transition to digital signatures also aligns with our sustainability goals. By adopting digital signatures, we are furthering our award-winning drive towards paperless banking, helping to reduce our environmental footprint. This also ensures a much more seamless and secure banking experience for our customers. Therefore, we invite all DFCC Bank customers to register with LankaSign and take advantage of digital signatures to digitalise their banking journey with us.”
DFCC Bank’s exceptional leadership in driving digital transformation in banking and finance has received much recognition. Most recently, the bank was recognised as the Overall Winner – Gold, at the recently concluded CPM Best Management Practices Company Awards 2024. This award was presented in recognition of the bank’s network-wide paperless drive, implemented in line with its Strategic Sustainability Framework. Through this effort, DFCC Bank has been able to enhance customer experiences, save over 200 trees in 2023, and reduce its operating expenses by nearly 70 million rupees, demonstrating the positive aspects of a sustainable approach to banking, finance and economic development. DFCC Bank’s efforts to promote digital signatures is part of its broader effort to achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2030.
