DM Interior Studio Founder receives Entrepreneur Award

Dilushi Mendis, the Founder of DM Interior Studio, has been awarded the Entrepreneur Award at the International Women’s Achievers Awards 2024. 

Organised by the Business World International Organisation (BWIO), the award ceremony was held recently at Waters’ Edge Hotel in Battaramulla. 

Motivated by a desire to provide superior service to clients and elevate industry standards, Mendis founded DM Interior Studio. 

Mendis’s entrepreneurship is also about empowering talent and turning the concept of women empowerment into reality within her company. 

DM Interior Studio is currently working on several major projects, including a boutique hotel in Mirissa, a five-star hotel in Negombo, and an office complex in Colombo. Mendis hopes to inspire more women to pursue careers in interior design, emphasising the importance of passion, continuous learning, and an eye for detail.

“Balancing professional and personal life, especially with three children, was a significant challenge. However, with the support of my family, including my husband and brother, I launched DM Interior Studio. Today, we create unique furniture pieces tailored to each project, whether residential, retail, or office. It is they and my team who are behind this achievement,” said Mendis.
