Dinesh appointed as Port City Commission Chairman

Dinesh Weerakkody, former Chairman of Hatton National Bank PLC and Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, has been appointed as Chairman of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission, the main authority managing the Colombo Port City project. Weerakkody is Vice Chairman of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon, immediate past Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka, Vice Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors of Sri Lanka and a Director of several companies. He is currently an Advisor on Treasury Affairs to President.

He is a former Chairman of the Employees’ Trust Fund Board of Sri Lanka, International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka and National Human Resource Development Council of Sri Lanka. He was also an Advisor to Prime Minister of Sri Lanka (2001 and 2004), National Policies and Economic Affairs Ministry and Tourism Development Minister.
