The Presidential Secretariat yesterday invited experienced professionals to submit expressions of interest (EOIs) to be considered for appointment as chairpersons and board members of state-owned enterprises, regulatory bodies and other statutory institutions.

A public notice published in yesterday’s newspapers by Secretary to President Dr. P.B. Jayasundara said experienced professionals are sought to head these state
enterprises to make them commercially viable and profit-making organisations by “adopting best practices and management strategies to ensure public accountability”.

Professionals are sought for regulatory and promotional agencies, statutory bodies and institutions and commercial state-owned institutions.

The advertisement said the EOIs would be reviewed by a panel of professionals and selection would be based on subject knowledge, competencies and experience of potential appointees.

Sri Lankan professionals living overseas too are encouraged to submit their EOIs.

The EOIs should be submitted by December 18, 2019, by mail or email, to Additional Secretary to President, Secretary’s Bureau, Presidential Secretariat, Colombo 1 or [email protected].
