Elephant House and Keells Foods have in 2017, continued their longstanding partnerships with the ‘Battle of the Blues’, the historic cricketing rivalry between Royal College and S. Thomas’ College, now in its 138th year.
This year’s Royal-Thomian cricket match reached its exciting conclusion on March 11 at the iconic Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) grounds.
Every year, as the official “Food, Ice Cream and Beverage” sponsor of the Royal-Thomian, Elephant House and Keells Foods take it upon themselves to roll-out an extensive and diverse range of treats and eats at Sri Lanka’s most exclusive ‘big match’. This year’s tournament is no different, featuring a full spread of well-loved Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams, in addition to delicious meats from the Keells Food products range. These have been provided solely to delight cricketing fans, and keep the morale of spectators high, thus taking the spirit of competition to dramatic, new heights.  “When it comes to schools’ ‘big matches’, we are by far the largest promoter of the spirit of competition and sportsmanship at these tournaments. For 2017, our sponsorship of ‘The Battle of the Blues’ is our marquee event. Further, we are proud to note that, over the years, Elephant House and Keells Foods have become more than just sponsors for the ‘Royal-Thomian’.  We make sure that every single participant, from the sportsmen, to the old boys, parents and guests, are truly caught up in Sri Lanka’s unique big match culture”, commented Daminda Gamlath, Vice President – John Keells Holdings, and Head of Beverages – Elephant House.
