Exports to FTA partners up

During the month of January 2022, Sri Lanka’s exports to the free trade agreement (FTA) partners accounted for 7.2 percent of total merchandise exports and such exports increased by 28 percent to US $ 80.31 million.


Moreover, exports to India and Pakistan increased by 28.9 percent and 21 percent to US $ 71.72 million and US $ 8.59 million. Increased exports to India is mainly supported by increased exports of animal feed pepper, woven fabrics and apparel, the EDB said.


Exports to Pakistan were led by desiccated coconut, other articles of stones, woven fabrics and perfumes, cosmetics, shampoos and makeup preparations and electrical and electronic products.
