Award-winning co-working space Hatch is looking to expand its footprint, both within the country and overseas, so that an increasing number of start-ups can capitalise on the platform.

Hatch- Co-founder Nathan Sivagananathan yesterday announced that the entity is on the lookout to open new spaces across the island and also in the region, including Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The objective of the expansion drive is to increase the pool of successful startups and ensure they sustain their journey.

At present, Hatch offers co-working spaces, alongside startup acceleration and incubator facilities in Colombo 01 and Jaffna.

Since its inception in 2018, Hatch has worked to nurture startups and offer a vibrant atmosphere in which entrepreneurs and disruptive organisations can thrive. The spaces and facilities at Hatch are designed to enable effective co-working and collaboration with an emphasis on user-friendliness and creativity.

Sivagananathan also shared that coming up from Hatch is a programme that focuses on gender-based funding, which will be launched in the coming weeks.

Hatch has been successful in creating positive impact and knowledge sharing through seven pioneering programmes, including Kickass, Green Energy Champion, and HatchX FinTech.

The programmes are built with an understanding of the current needs of each start-up where the businesses are provided with access to local and international resources, networks, and capacity-building techniques.
