Foreign buying continues

Indices edged down as a result of price losses in counters such as Melstacorp, LOLC Holdings and Hatton National Bank with the turnover crossing Rs. 1.8 bn. 
Crossings were witnessed in Windforce, Central Finance Company and Hayleys, accounting for 43.3% of the turnover. 
Mixed interest was observed in John Keells Holdings, Marawila Resorts and Hemas Holdings whilst retail interest was noted in Beruwala Resorts, LVL Energy Fund and Browns Investments. 
Foreign participation in the market activity remained at subdued levels with foreigners closing as net buyers. Utilities sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (Windforce Limited) whilst the sector index gained 0.26%. 


The share price of Windforce Limited closed flat at Rs. 19.50. Capital Goods sector was the second highest contributor to the market turnover (Hayleys and John Keells Holdings) whilst the sector index edged up by 0.02%. The share price of Hayleys moved up by Rs. 0.50 (0.47%) to close at Rs. 106.50. 
The share price of John Keells Holdings closed flat at Rs. 206.00. Central Finance Company and Hatton National Bank were also included amongst the top turnover contributors. The share price of Central Finance Company gained Rs. 1.50 (1.27%) to close at Rs. 120.00. The share price of Hatton National Bank declined by Rs. 1.00 (0.49%) to close at Rs. 205.00.
