Godahewa to chair committee to identify opportunities to attract FDI

The Cabinet nod has been granted to appoint a five-member Cabinet Sub-Committee chaired by Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalaka Godahewa to identify investment opportunities that have the potential to attract foreign investment expeditiously to the country. 

 

 

The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved the proposal in this regard as a solution to the on-going foreign exchange crisis in the country.


The Cabinet Sub-committee is to be chaired by Dr. Godahewa and the other four members are Transports and Industries Minister Dilum Amunugama, Ports and Shipping Minister Pramitha Bandara Tennakoo, Urban Development State Minister Lohan Rathwatte and Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara.


Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed another committee comprising of key ministerial secretaries to facilitate investment proposals with a special focus on the renewable energy sector.
