Green Scape Coir Exports (Pvt) Ltd, the brainchild of K.A.D.C Silva was established in 2007 with the objective of manufacturing and exporting coir products from Sri Lanka.
Collecting 10 tonnes of wood shaving daily, the business has expanded to exporting over 3500 metric tonnes daily in almost 140 containers.
Since it is not a commercial product, it cannot be bought from another place. Amidst many challenges the company has emerged to be one of the leading businesses in the industry.
Presently they export materials to A’Saffa Foods SAOG in Oman, which is the only client they have been working since 2007. As such they currently export their items to the Gulf regions but have a vision to expand to the Europe as well.
Those in the Gulf region currently exports these products from USA, Australia and other countries but since there are ample amount of saw mills in Sri Lanka it can emerge in to a profitable business.
Usually they go round collecting the wood shavings from these saw mills and then export them overseas. The factory is located in Homagama and houses a cadre of 30-35 employees who work day in, day out to take the company forward. The Founder/ Managing Director, K.A.D.C Silva hopes to partner with a prospective client and expand the business in an attempt to bring in more value to this product.
