Hayleys Travels, the travel and leisure arm of blue-chip conglomerate Hayleys PLC, has renewed its partnership with the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka).

The partnership will assist in the promotion of sustainable tourism and leverage on synergistic opportunities in the tourism sector.

The post-pandemic growth of travel across key markets such as Germany, where pent-up demand and evolving consumer expectations are emerging as key drivers, has created a demand for a specialised tourism product. The strategic geographical location and diverse propositions for tourism such as culture, wildlife and natural wonders, amongst others, will position Sri Lanka as a destination that can fulfil such emergent needs. This partnership has proven to provide a firm platform for Sri Lanka’s tourism proposition to gain access to key stakeholders in Germany.

“We are delighted to renew our Premier Platinum partnership with an esteemed entity as AHK Sri Lanka,” stated Hayleys Aviation Director/CEO Gerard Victoria.

“This partnership provides us with an opportunity to approach key market segments in Germany for tourism promotion as well as to drive synergies with German entities established in Sri Lanka. We will also gain access to a wealth of knowledge in relation to best practices in sustainable tourism, which can be implemented locally.”
