Hilton-owning firm gets new board; Nimal Perera Chairman

The Finance Ministry has appointed a new director board to Hotel Developers (Lanka) PLC, headed by former Urban Development Authority (UDA) chief and Noritake Company Executive Consultant Nimal Perera as Chairman.


Hotel Developers (Lanka) PLC is the owing company of Hilton Colombo.

Prior to his current position at Hotel Developers (Lanka) PLC, Perera had held several positions at Noritake, including Accountant, Chief Accountant, Assistant General Manager Finance/Commerce, Deputy General Manager and Director General Manager/Chief Executive Officer.


In addition, he was Chairman of Lanka Logistics & Technologies Co. Ltd, On’ally Co, Unidep Company, Waters Edge Company Ltd, Sri Lanka Tea Board and State Engineering Corporation.Perera has more than 30 years of executive experience in financial management, accounting, internal auditing and general management, including stints with R.K. Fryer & Co. Chartered Accountants, United Kingdom, as an Audit Senior and as an Assistant Accountant (prior to joining Noritake) at International Computers Limited, United Kingdom, formally a blue-chip company, which was later taken over by Fujitsu.

Other directors appointed to the Hotel Developers board are Ishan Priyantha Dantanarayana, P. Priyantha Deniyaya, J.M.U. Priyantha Jayamaha, V. Kanagasabapathy, Dheeshana S. Ameresekera and M.K. Pradeep Kumara.
