IASL introduces 2024/25 office bearers

The Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL), the representative body of the insurance industry in the country, has announced the reappointment of its esteemed office bearers for the year 2024/25. 

The event took place recently at the Annual General Meeting. Subsequently the sub-committee members were also appointed for the said term at the IASL Executive Committee Meeting, which was held on May 3, 2024.
Sri Lanka Insurance Group Chief Executive Officer Chandana L. Aluthgama continues as President, HNB Assurance PLC Chief Executive Officer Lasitha Wimalaratne as Vice President, Orient Insurance Limited Chief Executive Officer Tanuj Edward as Secretary and LOLC Life Assurance Chief Executive Officer Nadika Opatha as Treasurer of the IASL. J.M. Niyas holds his position as Secretary-General of the IASL.

The Executive Committee of the IASL, along with its subcommittee, prioritise crucial industry matters and emerging developments, embodying a commitment to addressing them proactively. This is encapsulated by the Legal Affairs Committee, chaired by Ceylinco Life Insurance Limited Senior Assistant General Manager Legal Kushan Weththasinghe, Marketing and Sales Forum chaired by Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Life Ltd Chief Business Officer Namalee A. Silva, IT Sub Committee chaired by Continental Insurance Lanka Limited Chief Information Officer Nuwan Hettiararachi, Actuarial Sub Committee chaired by Ceylinco Life Assistant General Manager Actuarial Services Rishikulya Gunasehera, General Insurance Forum chaired by Continental Insurance Lanka Limited Deputy Chief  Officer Sidantha Karunaratne, HR Sub Committee chaired by Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Life Ltd Deputy General Manager Human Resources and Administration Rohitha Amarapala, Finance and Technical Sub Committee chaired by AIA Insurance Lanka Limited Chief Financial Officer Sampath Thusara and Life Insurance Forum chaired by HNB Assurance PLC Head of Life Operations
