ICCSL – Mirror Business webinar on Education & HR tomorrow

ICCSL in partnership with DailyFT, Daily Mirror Business, CA Sri Lanka, GPW Sri Lanka, HRCornucopia, Job Enrich, PIBT, hSenid, LearnTV and CareerMe will host a webinar to discuss ‘The Role of Education, Skills and HR for Sri Lanka’s Success’ tomorrow (August 18) from 4.00 p.m. onwards. 

The event will be aired on the ICCSL, Daily FT and CA Sri Lanka FB pages.

According to the WEF in 2020, the global workforce lost an equivalent of 255 million full-time jobs, an estimated US$ 3.7 trillion in wages and 4.4 percent of global GDP, a staggering toll on lives and livelihoods. 

While the vaccine rollout has begun and the growth outlook is predicted to improve, an even socio-economic recovery is far from certain. The choices made by policymakers, business leaders, workers and educators today will shape economies for years to come. At this critical crossroads political and business leaders must consciously, proactively and urgently lay the foundations of a new social order, rebuilding economies so they provide opportunity for all.

In this context, public and private sectors have to play a key role to provide better skills, jobs and education through initiatives to close the skills gap and prepare for the ongoing technological transformation of the future of work. 

The keynote addresses will be delivered by Sandeep Chaudhary, CEO PeopleStrong and former CEO Aon Hewitt Consulting Services, South Asia, Irene Teng, Managing Director Global Markets, AICPA and CIMA and CMA Founder Prof. Lakshman Watawala.
