In an effort to extend some form of assistance to the IT/BPO sector during the ongoing power cuts, the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) has made arrangements to make its resources available to industry stakeholders affected by the power cuts.
The ICTA yesterday announced that it has opened its SparX Coworking space for startups to carry out their work amid mounting challenges.
ICTA Chairman Oshada Senanayake shared that the agency has also opened up all of its boardrooms and auditorium space for ICT companies to use until there is backup power.
In a tweet, he further said the ICTA is also working on opening coworking spaces across the island nation. However, the agency needs to sort out the fuel feeding priority setup for generators to have the spaces operational, he said.
Senanayake said the agency has increased its requests to prioritise fuel for the industry so that some spaces can be powered up for businesses to function.
