The visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) officials yesterday met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The IMF team is in Colombo with the objective of making the talks between Sri Lanka and the multilateral lender progress towards a staff-level agreement on a prospective bailout package.
IMF Negotiation Panel Head Peter Breuer, Deputy Head Masahiro Nozaki, IMF Sri Lanka Permanent Representative Tubagus Feridhanusetyawan, Chief of Staff to President and Senior Advisor to President on National Security Sagala Ratnayake, President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and several others were present at this occasion.
The IMF officials, who will be in Colombo until August 31, are also to meet the Central Bank officials for discussions
